PowerFlex Delivers Turnkey EV Charging for San Leandro Tech Campus
San Leandro Tech Campus (SLTC) is a LEED Gold-certified office complex in the Bay Area, designed with a strong emphasis on resource conservation and energy efficiency. As a hub for innovation and technology, the campus is home to forward-thinking companies that prioritize sustainable operations and modern workplace amenities. With a commitment to supporting the evolving needs of its tenants and the growing adoption of electric vehicles, SLTC continues to set a standard for environmentally responsible development in the region.
The Challenge
Satisfy Growing Demand for Onsite EV Chargers
When the San Leandro Tech Campus opened, tenants quickly began requesting electric vehicle charging options to accommodate the growing number of EV drivers commuting to the site. Despite having electrical conduits built into the parking garage during construction, no charging stations were initially installed, leaving a gap between infrastructure readiness and actual user needs. The campus required a solution that could deliver reliable, scalable charging for a diverse group of tenants, while also providing detailed energy monitoring and keeping installation costs low. With multiple stakeholders involved and a need for future-proofing, SLTC sought a partner who could manage the entire process and ensure a seamless experience for both property management and drivers.

The system also provided detailed energy data monitoring, aligning with the needs of tech-focused tenants. By planning for future expansion and recommending upsized equipment, PowerFlex ensured that SLTC would be able to easily add more stations as demand grows, making the campus ready for the continued rise in electric vehicle adoption.
“From the start, the PowerFlex team was professional and competent. We had various stakeholders on the SLTC side that had quite a few questions about the process, and how the system would work with drivers, PG&E, and payments. PowerFlex patiently answered all our questions, always provided information quickly, and oftentimes would show up personally to make sure all our questions were addressed.”
