As one of the nation’s largest cold storage warehouse providers, Preferred Freezer has more than 35 facilities in operation across the U.S. Founded
in 1989, the company has since expanded internationally, with warehouses in China and Vietnam. Preferred Freezer has partnered with PowerFlex to complete several rooftop solar systems atop locations in California, Massachussetts and New Jersey.
Solar Photovoltaic System Specifications
Collectively, the solar projects produce approximately 10,000,000 kWh of clean energy annually. The solar energy that the systems generate have the environmental benefits equivalent to saving approximately 735,723 gallons of gasoline or preserving 6,183 acres of forests per year. The amount of clean energy produced is equivalent to powering the electricity of 1,500 homes annually or burning nearly 7 million pounds of coal and will help avoid more than 14,344,240 pounds of CO2 per year.

Through state-specific solar incentives, the Solar Renewable Energy Credit Programs (SREC), Preferred Freezer was able to benefit from the lucrative investment of solar in addition to reducing their electricity costs.
