PURA Extends Bid Deadline for Clean Energy Programs

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) has extended the deadline for the state’s Low Emission Renewable Energy Credit (LREC) and Zero Emission Renewable Energy Credit (ZREC) programs by a month. Bids are now due July 13th, 2020, so there is still time to benefit from these incentives before the application window closes.Through these incentive programs, companies who’ve invested in solar are enjoying 15 years of revenue for the clean energy generation, in addition to savings on their utility bills.In uncertain times, solar energy offers a prudent investment for companies looking to mitigate risk.
